Today, we said farewell to our wonderful Boots - or as he was better known, Mr. Boots. Mr. Boots was found in Princess Anne on a stormy night, a very sick cat with no apparent home. Fortunately, the woman who found him took him right to the vet, who supplied a large dose of antibiotics and also gave the cat his name. Mr. Boots recovered, but remained susceptible to respiratory infections. For many years we fought those infections with antibiotics, but this time, we lost the fight. Mr. Boots loved the other cats and was friendly toward people, as long as that did not involve too much being held. He preferred to sit on a chair or blanket with other cats and to keep his own counsel. Mr. Boots did not believe in litter boxes - perhaps that's why he was out on a stormy night in the first place, but everyone is welcome at Sanctuary House and I suppose he knew that someone would clean up after him.
