Ready for Halloween?

Dolly is practicing her scary Halloween expression!  Remember - it's highly unlikely that anyone will be going out to trick-or-treat, so stock up on the candy that YOU really want!

Shopping for the holidays?

You can make a difference for us this holiday when you shop on Amazon - we'll receive a and few cents donation, and it costs you nothing! Shop for gifts at  smile.amazon.com/ch/16-1482599  to generate donations for Ascension Hermitage and Sanctuary Inc. Thank you very much!!

Good Morning!

Yum, yum - time for breakfast! And the sun is coming up, too! All of us - even the chickens - hope you are having a wonderful day.

$5 Friday

Gus is just ready to settle in for a morning nap - he's hoping you might send us $5 this Friday . . . or any Friday for that matter! $5 would buy Janie's eye drops for two weeks, or box of biscuits for the doggies, or watermelon for the chickens and horses (yes, horses do love watermelon!), or pumpkins for Halloween decorations and then treats for chickens! "So if you'll send $5," Gus says, "I'll rest easy! Meows today and always." ❤❤❤

On a sunny Autumn afternoon

Oblivious to the noisy crop duster, Bella and Glory search for bugs. . . . it's that kind of day!

The new chair!

Well, it's not an entirely new chair, but the cats' saucer chair has a new canvas cover!  Clegg was eager to stretch out in the chair - Sandy was ready for an immediate nap. The canvas covers are comfortable and great for scratching, climbing, and napping - each one lasts about a year!

Farewell Francine

It was with much sadness and no surprise that we said goodbye to Francine this morning. She was one of the oldest kitties at Sanctuary House - probably 16 or 17 years old, and for many of those years she had lived here. She was never fond of being in a large group of cats, but in the last few years had become very attached to her cat friend Marla. Francine loved watching the birds or perhaps she was supervising them - she was very intent on her "work" and did not appreciate being moved away from the window nor any person who caused her to move! Francine had definite routines and waited impatiently if I happened to be late with her breakfast. She had absolutely no use for being held or petted by a human, but last night she purred when I rubbed her head. . . a sign, I'm sure, that she forgave my shortcomings as a human being. See you at the Rainbow Bridge, sweet kitty.
