First day of Spring!

This first day of Spring is chilly and sunny. A heron visited the "pond" in the middle of the horse pasture, and after a quick drink flew off to the nearby woods. The redbud tree is just ready to burst into bloom.

And most reassuring of all, the pecan tree is almost ready to leaf. Surely that is the most definite sign of Spring, since as my mother who knew a lot about trees always said, "You can't fool a pecan!"

Guess what?

Just in case you haven't heard the good news - Ascension Hermitage & Sanctuary House now has a   Chewy Wish List !  Of course, the wish list has many things for cats and dogs, and even for the horses . . . but the greatest thing is that there are a couple of items for chickens!!  And yes, a few things for wild birds . . . and you know that that means - even for the squirrels! We are grateful for anything you send - thank you, thank you!

Sunny Sunday Morning

Happy Sunday morning! Sonny and Willow went out to graze in spite of the hot weather. The hummingbird garden and surrounding areas are full of dragonflies today . . . and with the advent of the dragonflies the mosquito population will drop to an all time low! No surprises here - the  dragonfly  is today's puzzle. Have fun and stay cool!
